Description:

 

e-Sci Corporation seeking a Systems Administrator to support an Intelligence Community customer in the Charlottesville, VA area.

 

We require an experienced Windows/LINUX system administrator to operate and maintain an application suite and related systems with thousands of users. You will be working in a mid­ sized team in a dynamic environment.

 

The candidate will responsible for ensuring systems are fully operating at high availability, rapidly troubleshooting and resolving systems issues, handling tickets and calls forwarded from the tier one help desk, as well as from team developers. You will work closely with our Customer, Product Subject Matter Experts, End Users, and Software Engineers to ensure data and system integrity.

 

Other responsibilities include deploying software patches, normalizing incoming data, developing and running scripts, monitoring and configuring virtual machines and web application servers, providing technical assistance and consulting to the users, supporting the database administrators, and developing tools for managing the system. The candidate will troubleshoot network and application performance issues and recommend appropriate actions. If systems issues and circumstances warrant it, the candidate must also be willing to go onsite

during off-hours. The position is at a customer site and frequent customer interaction is required.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of related experience, Master's Degree plus 3 year of related experience, 9 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

US Citizenship is required.

Active/current Top Secret/SCI and CI Polygraph

Security+ certification.

A minimum 3 years of experience with systems administration to include Windows and LINUX

platforms.

Experience with Windows and LINUX based procedures and scripting such as PUSQL,  LINUX

-common shell scripting (k,c, bash, etc.).

Experience implementing and configuring virtual machines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Oracle llg Database and SQL skills a plus.

Experience with Oracle llg and 12c (install, configuration, schema and database creation, performance diagnosis, etc.).

Knowledge of Apache Servers.

DODIIS security/builds familiarity a plus. Experience with issue tracking tools
