Description:

 

e-Sci Corporation is seeking a senior software developer for a program that provides large scale development, testing, deployment and O&M for the Intelligence community. The successful candidate will take part in a full life cycle development of components using COTS, GOTS, and various in-house applications. Specifically, the candidate will support the data ingest activities required for the migration and modernization of an application to an enterprise platform service.

 

 

The individual will work with members of a diverse project team and participate in the overall design and development of data ingest processes for web-based and other software application components. Excellent communication and coordination skills are required to effectively collaborate with the team, customers, and the enterprise platform service providers. The team is located in Herndon and Charlottesville, VA. Other locations will be considered.

 

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 or a level 4.

 

Level 3: A Bachelors degree plus 5 years' experience, Masters degree with 3 years of experience or 9 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Level 4: A Bachelors degree plus 9 years' experience , Masters degree with 7 years of experience or 13 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

US citizenship is required.

Willingness and ability to be processed forTS/SCI clearance is required. Candidate may also be required to successfully complete a CI Polygraph.

Experience with Java Development design and debugging.

Must have experience obtaining, importing, and processing data for NoSQL databases, especially

MongoDB, Elasticsearch or Accumulo.

Must exhibit diligence in documenting solutions for long-term operations and maintenance. Must have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

​

Experience with Apache Thrift and Kafka.

Experience migrating data ingest processes from SQL to NoSQL databases.

Experience developing data ingest processes for applications running on a Platform-as-a-Service or Cloud environment.

Experience in developing and optimizing near real-time data ingest processes for applications

with Big Data, especially through the development of a data pipeline.

Experience or interest in any of the following technologies: Java, Elastic Search, Mongo DB, JavaScript, Apache Thrift, Kafka, Tomcat, VMs, Windows.

Experience in "cloud"/big data based technologies: Hadoop, Cloudera, Storm, Accumulo, Hive, Pig, or Zookeeper.

Knowledge of the following Toolsets: IntelliJ, Bugzilla, Redmine, Git, Selenium, lira.
